The INFINITI QX80 is due for its next full redesign in 2018 or 2019. Although full official details have not yet been released, the automaker has issued a first look of a concept called the QX80 Monograph.
Based on its name, the QX80 Monograph is intended to display the brand's singular concept of what a future luxury SUV should embody. Its overall shape resembles the current vehicle with a large, commanding presence unlike any other model in its lineup.
Unfortunately, details on powertrain choices have not yet been announced. For reference, the current QX80 comes equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. A 7-speed automatic transmission is standard.
Technology is an area in which INFINITI hopes to make big strides. For example the 2018 Q50 will be the first car to offer the brand's ProPILOT suite of driver assistance tech. The car will get a full range of abilities like forwarding emergency braking with predictive collision warning, rear collision intervention, active lane keeping assist, blind spot warning assist, adaptive cruise control and more.
The QX80 Monograph will be displayed at the 2017 New York Auto Show in April. A release date has not yet been announced, but the production vehicle is expected to either come as a 2018 or 2019 model.
Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
