Full-size sedans seem like a throwback to a bygone era, but the 2018 Chevrolet Impala is a thoroughly modern four-door with a roomy interior, huge trunk, and comfortable ride. Its sleek style and cutting-edge tech features amplify this contemporary conveyance.
What's New for 2018
Light changes accompany the 2018 Chevy Impala, including keyless entry, push-button start, and a standard rearview camera across the model line. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth, and MyLink with an 8-inch screen come to the base model.
Choosing Your Chevrolet Impala
Five adults sit in comfort in the front-wheel drive Chevy Impala. The large sedan features a plush interior and 18.8 cubic feet of storage space. Fold down the rear seat and the storage space rivals some SUVs.
Standard on the LS and LT trims is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 197 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. Premier models get a 3.6-liter V6 engine (optional elsewhere) with 305 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission works alongside both engines.
Fuel economy comes in at an EPA-estimated 22 miles per gallon in the city and 30 mpg on the highway for the base engine, and 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway for the V6.
The 2018 Chevrolet Impala comes in LS, LT, and Premier trims.
The base LS is better equipped and a more compelling choice, especially with the V6 engine, but the LT brings features and amenities buyers expect in a large sedan.
