2025 RAM 1500 Changes
The 2025 RAM 1500 receives a revised grille, headlights, and interior touches. There is a new premium trim called Tungsten, a new turbocharged engine that replaces the V8, and promises of a plug-in hybrid and full-electric variant soon. The TRX model is no longer available, however, an equally off-road capable model (just without the supercharged V8) is on track to arrive later this year.
Choosing Your 2025 RAM 1500
The 2025 RAM 1500 is available in seven trims; Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn/ Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Limited, and Tungsten. The wide range of trims brings a broad gap in base prices for the 1500 which range from $42,270 to $89,070.
2025 RAM 1500 Engine Options
The V8 has effectively been replaced by two versions (both of which are more powerful) of a twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. The mild-hybrid naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 carries over as the standard engine on the lower trims where the upgraded engine is offered for $2,695. All engines are tied to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Standard Trim | Engine Type | Horsepower / Torque | Fuel Economy Combined (EPA-2024) |
Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn | 3.6L V6 | 305 hp / 269 lb-ft | 23 mpg (HFE trim), 22 mpg (RWD), 21 mpg (4WD) |
Laramie, Rebel | 3.0L I6 Standard-Output (SO) | 420 hp / 469 lb-ft | TBD |
Limited, Limited Longhorn, Tungsten | 3.0L I6 Standard-Output (SO) | 540 hp / 521 lb-ft | TBD |
2025 RAM 1500 Fuel Economy
The base V6 engine is expected to retain its fuel efficiency crown and is especially in the HFE, fuel efficiency-optimized trim - once the official EPA ratings are released. They are, at least, expected to improve upon last year’s V8’s 19 miles per gallon rating for the four-wheel drive model.
2025 RAM 1500 Towing Capacity
The RAM 1500’s towing capacity is virtually unchanged from last year’s models. In its ideal configuration (cab, bed, and suspension), the truck can pull 11,560 pounds and haul 2,370 pounds. Two notable towing-related packages include the $1,345 Trailer-Tow Package with its upgraded trailer safety check systems and the $595 Towing Technology Group that adds trailer hitch line-up assist, trailer reverse guidance, and a trailer surround-view camera system.
2025 RAM 1500 Dimensions & Cargo Capacity
The 2025 RAM 1500 offers an extended and crew cab and a short and long bed. The modest updates for the new year do not impact the overall size and the popular crew cab and short bed configuration and it measures 232 inches in length - just as long as the 2024 Ford F-150. That cab size provides 45.2 inches of legroom and 39.2 inches of headroom for those in back.
2025 RAM 1500 Safety
While automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist are available on the lower trims, the Laramie and Rebel include these items and offer adaptive cruise control, surround-view cameras, automatic high beams, and an automated parking system through the Advanced Safety Group ($3,395).
Blind spot detection requires stepping up to the Big Horn trim. The 2025 RAM 1500 Tungsten trim brings the debut of RAM’s hands-free driving assist system, included as standard equipment.
2025 RAM 1500 Technology
The RAM 1500 starts off with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display with remote connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A 12-inch screen is offered in the Big Horn trim and the new 14.4-inch display is offered in the Laramie trim. The Tungsten trim includes the larger screen and is uniquely fitted with a 23-speaker Klipsch premium sound system. The remaining trims (from the Laramie up) are offered or include a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
